Format: Kindle Edition

Charlie is a gentleman’s servant way back in the days of Queen Victoria. Charlie and Lord Brampton are exploring the world in Africa when Charlie is forced off a cliff by a charging Rhino. That’s where the fun begins. He is rescued by a tribe of Massai and nursed back to health. When the head shaman decides Charlie is the devil he is forced to flee with his nubile nursemaid, a crazy hag and a disgruntled camel. Soon after Charlie and Loiyan are left to their own devices and make a life for themselves while evading Massai warriors, and Arab slavers. Love blooms and tragedy strikes like a Shakespearean drama.
This was written with humor and a look at African customs back in the day. Charlie and Loiyan are rich likeable characters that you root for all through the story. Mr. Lovatt did this historical adventure proud and I look forward to his next trip abroad. five stars for a “can’t put down” book!
